Spiritual Background

 

Applicants should show evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord demonstrating ongoing spiritual growth as a disciple of Christ. Their relationship with God and others should show the fruit of the Spirit. Position Summary:

 

The Pastor for Worship and Youth Ministries has the responsibility for spiritual insight, coordinating and overseeing a youth ministry program focused on building young disciples for Christ, while being responsible for leading all aspects of the Church’s worship ministry to lead the congregation in authentic, Christ centered worship.
 
Worship Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead a worship ministry that is biblical, God-glorifying, celebratory, reverent and values participation over performance.
  • Foster a Christ-centered atmosphere within the worship teams.
  • Recruit volunteers and oversee the ongoing development of worship teams (including but not limited to vocalists, instrumentalists, and technology team members).
  • Lead all aspects of the worship ministry with excellence, humility, creativity, intentionality and an understanding of our church culture.
  • Seek to maintain a blended style of worship.
  • Ensure that the worship team members reflect the diversity of the congregation.
  • Schedule and oversee regular worship team practices.
  • Oversee sound, media and livestream.
  • Manage ProPresenter, Planning Center, and other technical tools used in worship.
  • Plan and administer a yearly budget for worship ministry.
  • Collaborate with Senior Pastor to ensure worship aligns with the mission and vision of the church.
  • Provide care, encouragement, and discipleship for the worship teams and tech team members.
  • Maintain and steward worship ministry equipment and resources.
  • Provide continuous improvement of music and media capabilities in the church.
 
Youth Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead youth into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible teaching, mentorship and life example.
  • Build relationships with the youth and their families to encourage spiritual growth and connection to the church.
  • Care for, spend time with and disciple the youth.
  • Create a welcoming environment that challenges youth to grow in their faith, service, and leadership abilities.
  • Seek to integrate youth ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries.
  • Coordinate and lead youth group meetings along with other events including but not limited to Sunday School, Bible Studies, camps, outreach, etc.
  • Create and implement regular youth activities for fellowship, evangelism, and discipleship.
  • Recruit and equip volunteers and leaders who will minister to and disciple other youth.
  • Actively ensure the growth and health of the ministry.
  • Communicate effectively with parents about the ministry.
  • Coordinate fundraising opportunities for additional expenses (summer camp, missions’ trips).
  • Plan and administer a yearly budget for youth ministry.
  • Provide development and continuous improvement of the youth ministry.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • A growing and mature relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A heart for Christ-centered worship.
  • Passionate about reaching and discipling the next generation.
  • Proven experience leading congregational worship in a contemporary setting.
  • Experience in youth ministry.
  • Strong vocal and/or instrumental ability.
  • Proficiency with ProPresenter, Planning Center, sound systems, and livestream technology.
  • Skilled in team building, communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong leader with a solid work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to function independently with minimal supervision while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.
  • Committed to excellence in ministry and authenticity in worship.
 
Education and Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a ministry -related field) or relevant experience (4 years).
