Optigy is seeking an experienced Pathology Physician Assistant for a locum assignment in Georgetown, SC . This role involves supporting pathology operations by performing gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens in a hospital-based laboratory. The provider will join a collaborative pathology team focused on delivering high-quality, precise diagnostic services.
RequirementsASCP certification required
Proven experience grossing large surgical specimens
Prior experience as a Pathology Physician Assistant required
Perform gross examination, dissection, and dictation of surgical specimens
Maintain accurate specimen identification and documentation
Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff to ensure timely case turnaround
Adhere to all CAP, CLIA, and facility compliance and safety standards
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the laboratory
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM shifts)
On-call: None
Overtime: Daily after 8 hours; Weekly after 168 hours
Credentialing Timeline: Variable
Telehealth: No
