Job Title: Payroll Assistant
Location: New York, NY 10004 (Onsite)
Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours: 35 hours/week (1-hour lunch)
Pay Rate: $28 - $30 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Payroll Assistant for an exciting job in New York, NY.
Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
Enter, manage, and process wage garnishments and related deductions
Prepare and process payroll transfer and reconciliation reports
Ensure accurate benefit and tax deductions
Conduct payroll audits to maintain accuracy and compliance
Assist with retroactive pay and time calculations
Support payroll leadership and accounting teams with special projects
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with payroll regulations
Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll and timekeeping processes
Hands-on experience with payroll functions including garnishments, taxes, and year-end activities
Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies
Ability to work efficiently across multiple systems simultaneously
High attention to detail and organizational skills
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with payroll systems such as QuickBooks, PayChoice, or Payroll Associates preferred
