Residential Security Agent

On-Call - Experience required 

Job Details:  

$37-39/hour 

Job Type – part time

Job Summary  

This position is for an on-call part-time armed Residential Security Team Agent. This position is tasked with numerous functions by providing support to a protective security detail in Santa Barbara, CA. This detail operates in a dynamic, multi-faceted, and fast paced environment. Below is an abbreviated list of the functions and responsibilities: 

Duties  

Duties for this detail include, but are not limited to: 

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for principals in all settings 

• Maintain a knowledge of baseline principal, property and neighborhood activities 

• Monitor property and area activities and conditions via closed-circuit television camera system and physical area checks 

• Monitor traditional and social media for potential threats 

• Drive or tail principal/s, family member, guests 

• Conduct advance work as needed 

• Screen and track mail and deliveries 

• Monitor the following:

• Weather and natural disasters 

• Traffic 

• Public safety incidents and trends 

• Neighborhood watch programs 

• Local and national current events 

• Coordinate with site staff to accomplish common tasks 

• Complete daily household tasks and maintenance as requested by principals 

• Ensures 24/7 operational readiness through stocking supplies and equipment upkeep 

• Operate within parameters established by standard operating procedures and applicable laws 

• Coordinate with and support executive protection element of the team 

Position Qualifications  

• 2-4+ years of combined experience in relevant security, military, and/or law enforcement positions 

• Valid Driver License with clean driving record 

• California BSIS Guard Card 

• California BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit with 9mm endorsement 

• CPR/AED/BLS certification through reputable institution 

• Passport 

*All certifications must be current. Employees are responsible for keeping all certifications/licenses active.

Desired  

• Bachelor's degree 

• Prior residential and/or fixed site security experience 

• Prior training course/s in residential security or executive protection 

• Training in defensive tactics and/or martial arts 

• Advanced emergency medical certification - First Responder, EMT or paramedic 

• Customer service experience 

Physical Requirements:  

• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly 

• Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary 

• Prolonged periods sitting of 5+ hours at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment 

• Prolonged periods of standing on your feet without a break 4-5+ hours 

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time 

• Must be able to lift, drag a human up to 200lbs or more, if necessary 

• Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, crawl 

• Being able to respond to physical attacks, natural disasters, evacuations 

• Perform physical activities such as hiking, biking, swimming 

Detail Structure  

On-call position on a 24/7 detail working the following: 

• Day and night shifts (545-1815, 1745-0615) 

• Schedule varies, dependent on team needs 

• Weekends 

• Holidays 

• Overtime/additional shifts as needed 

• Domestic travel (if desired by the principal/s) 

Salary and Benefits  

• Base pay rate of $37-$39/per hour 

• Pay structure per shift includes built-in overtime and double-time in accordance with California and federal laws 

• Paid sick leave
