Summit Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering nature-based mental health support for kids and teens in Shawnee, Kansas. We help youth ages 8–18 build confidence, focus, and emotional regulation through hands-on activities, animal connection, and movement—in an environment designed to feel safe, fun, and full of possibility.

Our programs combine clinical therapy, executive function coaching, and experiential learning, giving kids the tools to thrive at school, at home, and in life. Whether they're navigating ADHD, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm, we meet each child where they are and help them grow from there.

The Opportunity

We're hiring an Executive Function Coach / Therapist to join our small, collaborative team. This role starts as a 90-day 1099 contractor position. After the trial period, we offer W-2 employment—whether you're looking to grow into a full-time role or prefer to stay part-time with benefits.

You'll carry your own caseload, co-facilitate groups, and help shape programming for neurodivergent kids and teens. You'll have autonomy, a supportive team, and the chance to do meaningful work in a setting that actually prevents burnout—trails and barn animals instead of fluorescent lights and endless paperwork.

Schedule

Two days per week, 8 hours per day (16 hours/week to start). Days are flexible based on your availability and client needs.

What You'll Do

• Carry a caseload of 8–10 clients (kids and teens, ages 8–18)
• Provide executive function coaching and/or therapy based on your credentials
• Support and co-facilitate group programming
• Prepare for sessions, maintain documentation, and communicate with families
• Participate in occasional outreach events
• Contribute to a respectful, neurodivergent-affirming team culture

Who We're Looking For

Required:

• Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, education, or related field
• Active Kansas license in a relevant clinical or therapeutic discipline (LMSW, LSCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, or equivalent)
• At least 1–2 years of experience working with children, teens, or families
• Experience with executive function coaching or strong familiarity with EF strategies (time management, planning, task initiation, self-regulation)
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships with neurodivergent clients
• Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and affirming practice

Preferred:

• Experience with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or learning differences
• Familiarity with metacognitive strategies or frameworks like Seeds of Learning
• Experience with treatment planning and clinical documentation

Compensation

Trial Period (90 days): $41–45/hour, 1099 contractor

After Successful Trial: W-2 employment with health insurance, PTO, and retirement contribution

• Full-time: $65,000–70,000 annually
• Part-time: Pro-rated salary with benefits

The 1099 trial rate is designed to match take-home pay of the W-2 position—conversion means added benefits and stability, not a pay cut.
