Job Description
Advance your nursing career as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Tucson, Arizona, beginning February 2, 2026. This multi-week assignment offers a stable 24 hours guaranteed per week, with a competitive weekly pay range of $2,061 to $2,226, reflecting your skills and experience. In PCU, you’ll deliver high-quality care to patients who require sophisticated monitoring and interventions, balancing acuity with the warmth of patient-centered practice. You’ll work closely with physicians, intensivists, and a multi-disciplinary team to anticipate needs, respond rapidly to changes in condition, and guide families through critical moments with clear communication and empathy. As you grow, you’ll expand your competencies in hemodynamic monitoring, telemetry interpretation, medication management, and transitional care planning, positioning yourself for broader opportunities within the specialty and beyond.
Arizona is renowned for its stunning landscapes and outdoor adventures, and Tucson sits at the crossroads of culture, cuisine, and natural beauty. From sunset views in the nearby Santa Catalina Mountains to the sun-drenched trails of Saguaro National Park, you’ll find inspiration outside the walls of the hospital. The state’s diverse communities offer rich experiences, and the option to explore other locations across the United States under our program adds an extra layer of professional breadth. You can enjoy the unique blend of desert serenity, canyon vistas, and a growing urban scene that includes thriving arts districts, farmers markets, and a culinary scene that celebrates the region’s heritage. Whether you’re seeking weekend escapes under wide-open skies or extended journeys across new cities, this role keeps your options open.
In this PCU RN role, you’ll be responsible for continuous patient assessment, lead and participate in care rounds, manage unstable rhythms, electrolyte disturbances, and infusion therapies, and coordinate timely transfers when patient status changes. You’ll interpret telemetry data, titrate medications, and implement care plans that reflect evidence-based practice and patient preferences. You’ll document meticulously for regulatory compliance and ensure safe discharge planning in collaboration with case management and social work. The position emphasizes professional growth—through simulations, evidence-based rounds, mentorship from senior clinicians, and structured pathways to specialty certification. The package includes a competitive bonus consideration, housing assistance, and opportunities to extend your contract based on performance and unit needs. Our commitment to your well-being goes beyond the shift: you’ll have access to 24/7 support from our dedicated travel teams, ready to assist with scheduling, housing logistics, credentialing, and any clinical questions that arise on the road.
Our company values your development. We empower clinicians to advance their careers within a supportive environment that respects the balance between professionalism and personal life. You’ll find ongoing learning, leadership exposure, and a culture that recognizes your contributions to patient outcomes and to the team’s morale. We believe the best care comes from nurses who feel supported, heard, and challenged to grow, and we invest in the resources that make that possible.
If you’re ready to bring your PCU expertise to Tucson and to a broader network of opportunities across the country, apply now. This is more than a travel assignment—it’s a pathway to expanding your clinical impact, building lasting relationships with colleagues, and advancing toward your career goals in a setting that values your expertise and dedication. We’re excited to consider you for this essential role and to help you design a rewarding chapter in your nursing journey.
